So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists about being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists. 

She had herself gene tested and found that she was almost certain to get breast cancer, which took her mother away at 50 years old. I think she’s incredibly brave to put her health before her appearance. Given the choice between almost certainly getting a life threatening illness and combatting it with painful chemo vs a preventative surgery, she went with the surgery. There’s nothing wrong with that.

And she is coming out publicly with it to be a symbol of encouragement for many other women going through the same choice, despite the fact that she had to have known it would garner attention like this. I think she is incredibly brave and her actions are worthy of respect.

Wow, a woman made a life-changing decision to alter her appearance in a way that has the distinct capacity to devastate a person, because she wanted to spare herself CANCER.  Let’s call her an attention-seeker and mourn the most important part of her—her boobies!!!  That’s all a woman is, right?  A set of boobies that cries for attention too often.

I hope these people never have to face a similar decision.

These fucking guys are idiots. Your breasts (or lack thereof) do not determine how beautiful you are. Nor do they make you a woman in any way, shape, or form. They are a part of you, but more importantly, they are a part of you that you can live without. She does not need validation from a bunch of douchebags who have nothing better to do than ridicule someone for potentially saving her own life. She’s the celebrity, she’s the millionaire, she’s the one looking out for her own health, and they’re the assholes with nothing more than a fucked up sense of thinking and a god damn internet connection.
